It’s been one year. I miss you Katrina!

One year ago today, the world lost one of the most beautiful people who I have ever been honored enough to call my friend. Katrina was born on January 19, 1977. She and I were only 3 months apart. I met her through Leaving Prints Scrapbook company. And although we lived a bugzillion miles apart – She in Utah and I in Arizona, we continued a mom journey together. We spoke on facebook and through emails. We read each others’ blogs. She was such an amazing mom! I knew that she and I were peas in a pod. I mean, how many moms out there have this many children?

Katrina passed away on May 6, 2013 giving birth to number 6, Baby Jet. So today is a bitter sweet – Happy 1st Birthday Jet! I was unable to make her funeral and for that I have so many mixed emotions. I couldn’t attend her funeral because on that day, I was adopting 2 of my children (My number 6 and 7).

One year today has passed and I have been so tempted through this year to email her, and then I remember. And I cry because we lost our earthly Angel, Kartina to enter heaven. I pray for her children every day, because they mourn for her.

I will always remember what an amazing woman she was! I love you, Katrina. You will never be forgotten! katrina

Here is the excerpt from my Facebook post:

It is not often that we have angels walking among us and are able to see their amazing works in this world. Katrina Galbraith Lawrence passed away earlier today during complications in childbirth with her 6th child. I have known Katrina for 10 years as not only a friend, but as a warrior for her family. My heart breaks for her children and husband, her family and friends. We have lost an AMAZING woman today. She was be truly missed – her smile, her creativeness and her unending love. I pray that her husband can stay strong for her children and remember to always share stories of Katrina with her children.
