There have so many inquiries to my recipes and feeding kids from scratch food that I am announcing my cooks books. The solar oven book has been in the works for about 6 months and the Kids tested for… well, really… years.

I wanted to thank each and everyone of your for your support in my creations and I can’t wait to let you know when I am finished up with them.

Off to test 3 more recipes today!!!

Here is the intro for the Kid Tested from scratch book:

Introduction

There are so many different convenient foods out there. You can just swing by the market and pick up a box of this or a bag of that and open it right there.

After the discovery that my 3rd  child, Elwyn was deathly allergic to the dyes that are in foods and other products, we as a family has a serious eye-opening experience on what we had to do to make our lives a little less scary. That was spring of 2005 and Elwyn was about 16 months old. It was Easter Sunday and like many Americans we were celebrating Easter and the kids had baskets from Nana and Poppie. The baskets included chocolate bunnies and Christian crosses and well, my ultimate favorite, Jelly Beans. Those little bits of sugary delight proved to be a hospital trip for my youngest one, the first of many! We discovered that Elwyn was allergic to red dyes. She got hives and her throat swelled to the point that she couldn’t breathe.

That was the beginning of our family journey that has led us to this cookbook. Sometimes I believe that we need to revisit what we have and who we are and go back to the basics. As we continue to research and discover that there are many other families in the same boat as we were, trying desperately to discover what they can feed their children who like my Elwyn cannot ever have the convenience that many children do have.
