Even when you are having a rough day, there is just something about the smell of fresh baking bread!!!
This is a recipe that I use often in my bread machine when I don’t want to use my pre-rising dough and want some sandwich bread for the kids
(I have a big bucket in my spare fridge with 4 loaves of artisan dough that I make once a week or so. It has a bit of a “sour” taste to it and we make Boule bread from it).
Fluffy White Sandwich Bread (makes 1 loaf)
- 1 Tablespoon yeast
- 1- 1/4 cups warm water
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil (can substitute other oil – melted coconut oil works great too or butter)
- 3 cups white flour
- 1 Tablespoon vital wheat gluten
- 1-1/2 t salt (I normally omit the salt because I can’t eat white salt and don’t normally stand and grind my pink salt into dishes when I am in a hurry)
Add all ingredients in your breadmaker and turn on. SIMPLE! (you can add 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese and one chopped up jalapeno for a spicy alternative.)
