Creating a Shirt Design with Cricut Maker

It’s no secret that I love to create a little something for my kidlings. And it has never been a secret that Berlyn LOVES Star Wars, EVERYTHING STAR WARS! We have lived in a house of Star Wars since his birth. (Even my oldest son is a Star Wars GEEK playing online and role-playing games like Star Wars Edge of the Empire! We even host Star Wars Role-playing games in our home for his friends weekly!)

I included Amazon links to all of the items that I used to create this item minus the Cricut online program.

We

Choose your design in Cricut Design Space. The Star Wars ones are one that you purchase extra ($1.99/each or a price for the set.) I pay $9.99 a month to have all of the graphics that are available. Cricut Access Premium
In the Cricut Program, I grabbed a shirt template to get an approximate size placement of the cutout. You can size it to fit your project.
Choose your iron-on vinyl. I had a hand full of different Star Wars Iron Ons to choose from. These came in 3 packs of different designs. Cricut Access Premium

Here is the link to the Star iron on – https://amzn.to/2B

Get ready to cut. Remember if you are cutting vinyl or iron on that you need to MIRROR or the pattern will be backwards. (Remember you are cutting the back of the iron-on.)
Once it is done cutting in the Cricut, peel and weed out the excess that is not part of the design.
Now that you iron on is ready, let’s get it centered on the t-shirt.
340 degress for 30 seconds is the heat and time for patterned iron-on.

Cricut has a heat guide online: https://cricut.com/heatguide

Once heated and then cooled, you can remove the clear plastic. (Make sure that BEFORE you set your heat that your design is centered and exactly where you want it. – This one was not, so we added some words and extra tie fighters to even it out. )
I took tie fighters from the original design and cut them out and sized them differently.

Berlyn couldn’t be more happy with his tie-dyed Star Wars DARK SIDE shirt.
