I love that we live close enough to some interesting places in Arizona to take a day trip. Larry is on Federal Jury Duty call during the next month so I figured that I could kidnap him for lunch and then take him back to work not knowing how the next month is going to be for our family. It takes about 45 minutes to get over to Jerome from Larry’s office.
We started off this adventure having a scenic view filled lunch in the patio of The Haunted Hamburger on Main Street in Jerome, AZ overlooking the Verde Valley. Here is their link: https://thehauntedhamburger.com/
We walked around town but most businesses didn’t allow more than 5 (We had 7 with us and I will NOT leave children outside of a shop) in the establishment and required masks (tough with a few special needs kids who can’t wear them anyhow).
My sister had mentioned this really cool little shop and museum in an old car garage at the end of Main street before it turns by the fire station. (It is hard to even know that it is there… take that eastbound outside stairway down to the “shops and restroom”. and NO MASK required.)
The Sculptures were a fantastic interpretation of the scriptures of the bible. They each had a scripture that they were about and most had a write up of the scripture posted near them that you could read and look at the different pieces.
I would NOT recommend this place for littles because little hands could tough a lot of things here. This takes less than 30 minutes to read and look at all of the items. For our family, it was well worth just stopping and looking and letting them see someone else’s interpretation of the bible verses that they have been learning in our homeschooling.
There is NO FEE to look at the sculptures but there is a wishing well to drop a donation in to help this artist pay the rent 😉 ANd make sure to sign that guestbook.
So make sure that you go and visit the AWESOME little museum if you get a chance!
